"Special Music Episode"

Tom Waits is one of our favories. Our favorite album is Big Time
Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros (Lead singer from The Clash) is a big influence. Our favorite song is Yalla Yalla from Rock Art and the X-Ray Style

Mural above found on corner of 7th Street & Avenue A
Kevin talks about seeing Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
The Pogues, The Very Best of The Pogues
The Ramones and their DVD called Ramones - Raw
Joey Ramone with his unmistakable hairdo and glasses
Randal might have seen a Ramone at a benefit concert for Furious George at the Continental when they got sued by Curious George (and lost)
Kevin listens to the CBC, especially Definitely Not the Opera with Sook-Yin Lee who Randal remembers from Bob's Your Uncle
Kevin also likes Q with Jian Ghomeshi on CBC Radio

Tom Waits does the intro to the the movie The Tiger and the Snow with Roberto Benigni
Kevin gets advice from Tom Waits in dreams when stressed.
Probably some gems like: "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy."
Legal advice like: "The large print giveth, and the small print taketh away"
Love advice: "It was a hubba, hubba, ding dang, baby you are just everythang. A week later it's a hubba, hubba, ding dong, baby sure didn't last too long."
The always true: "Never trust a man in a blue trench coat, never drive a car when you're dead"
And finally, some beauty tips: "Such a crumbling beauty. Ah, there's nothing wrong with her that a hundred dollars wouldn't fix."
Kevin painted an abstract to Tricky and also likes Massive Attack
Kevin & Randal (along with the wives...well...one each!) went to see Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals. Diamonds on the Inside is our favorite CD.
Piers Faccini openned up for Ben...and got a standing ovation! Tearing Sky
Stars is a Canadian Band.
Check out Ageless Beauty in the Videos section. Set Yourself on Fire is their best.
Arcade Fire (yeah Canada!) is praised by David Bowie whom we also love. Neon Bible is their latest.
Band of Horses is another new band we listen to. Cease to Begin
Audiobooks such as The Measure of a Man, the autobiography of Sidney Poitier, The 4 Hour Workweek, Jpod and A Short History of Nearly Everything
Chemical Brothers for those wild brush strokes!
Lunch with Tom Waits...Tom...give us a call.
Shrek loves the happy music of Tom Waits (Little Drop Of Poison) and Nick Cave (People Ain't No Good), two great songs for the kids.
Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan are also in Kevin's playlist
I used to like CJAD but now I listen to Indie 103.1
Shows on Indie 103.1 like Jonesy's Jukebox and Henry Rollins Harmony in my Head
A little taste of Canada: Maple syrup Tim Horton's coffee
